This site is intended to be a wealth of resources relating to the wonderful world of Green Roofs in Toronto.

In 2010 Toronto introduced North America’s first municipally mandated green roof policy.  The Bylaw requires green roofs on new commercial, institutional and residential developments with a minimum Gross Floor Area of 2,000m² as of January 31, 2010. Beginning April 30, 2012, the Bylaw will require green roofs on new industrial development.  Passed by council with only two votes against (of which Mayor Ford was one), it was welcomed publicly with mixed reviews.
